EMERGENCY FLOOR

Since its foundation in the year 1911, Uzin Utz AG has developed from a regional adhesives manufacture to a globally active full-range system supplier for flooring systems. With their long-standing experience and the comprehensive flooring competence the company offers its partners practice-oriented products, systems and services for the installation, renovation and value maintenances of floors of all kinds.

During this project the possibilities of LED technology inside casted floors was investigated. Public buildings like hospitals, schools or national institutes often look like mazes. Hallways and rooms as far as the eye can reach. In order to bring some structure to these spaces, guidance and mood lights are more than welcome. This is where the developed LED floor comes in. With its integrated sensors and LED lights it can track all people positions on the floor and is able to provide the path to the nearest exit in a case of emergency or serve as moodlight to make the indoor atmosphere more pleasent.
